Music Festival in Zanzibar
Zanzibar always offer a wonderful space for all the people around the world in each and every month in different ways. So, each year in February, Zanzibar offers a space where diverse people from different corner of the world join in celebration united in universal language of music, it's called a SAUTI ZA BUSARA
SAUTI ZA BUSARA is proud of its roots in Zanzibar and the strong identity the festival has with these islands. Zanzibar offer four stages over four days of February around Stone Town for electrifying performances of African music. The festival started with Carnival Parade, where everyone invited to join, then after artist will perform their music in Old Forts, Forodhani Garden, Dhow Countries Music Academy and other historic buildings. And program end after honored to the best performer with awards.
There's something interesting for everyone with twenty groups representing Zanzibar and Tanzania and many more from the neighboring countries and beyond. SAUTI ZA BUSARA is more than just a music festival: it contributes to the growth and professionalization of the creative sector in the region; provide learning, exchanging experience, share employment opportunities and promotes Zanzibar globally as a leading destination for cultural tourism. At the same time provides training, workshop for promoting, networking and building skills are key elements of the festival, being especially targeted for East African musicians, managers media professionals and technicians. SAUTI ZA BUSARA music festival is organized by Busara Promotions, which is non-government, non-for-profit organization registered in Zanzibar in 2013. A vibrant East Africa music industry prominent on the world stage is the only one vision of the festival. SAUTI ZA BUSARA flagship event is to promote and develop emerging talents, as well as established artists from the region, including those from disadvantaged communities.
This festival will increase visibility and accessibility for African music, develop skills and opportunities in the music sector, and strengthen regional and international networking and partnerships, thereby contributing to East Africa's social, cultural and economic development.
