Mukhauta is a Nepali feature movie which features gangster life in Thamel how the two gangs use their power against other people.The movie ‘Mukhauta’ was released on June 13, 2014.This is the debut movie of the actor Arpan Thapa as a director. Rabin Shrestha produced this movie. The movie is given an ‘A’ certificate, suitable only to the audience 16 years or older. And screenplayhas been written jointly by Arpan Thapa and Pratik Gurung,  music by Kalyan Singh/ Kaliprasad Baskota / Sunny Sunam, action by Chandra Pant, choreographer Renasha Rai, background music by Jason Kunwar, editing by Himal Joshi and Sabina Basnet.

Because of a lot of well known actors and actresses in the movie, the movie ‘Mukhuta’ was one of the most awaited movies  by the audience. The gangster/crime movie tells the story of the underground mafia in Kathmandu. The movie plot starts with the entrance of Damodar Thapa (Actor Sunil Thapa) in Kathmandu during the Hippie era in Nepal at his youth; where he rises in power through black market business and crime world and establish his underworld mafia regime in Thamel as Mr. D. As he grows old, another gangster and mafia group of Chepang (Actor Robin Tamang) starts their influence and takes the half of the Thamel area. The rivalry and competition between these two gangs to rule over the Thamel area, and conspiracies in-between the same gang members; leads to the dramatic twist in this movie. ‘Mukhauta’ producer Rabin Shrestha had recently announced the start of the production of the sequel of the movie ‘Mukhauta 2’ as well as.
